House Guests 101

Having family and friends over during the holidays is fun but can also be exhausting. If you're anything like me, you want to make sure your guests are comfortable and accommodated. Often times, being prepared is the name of the game! If you stay ready, you don’t have to get ready, right?!

Four items you should always have on hand (stored away and ready when needed) are:

Towels sets

I can’t begin to tell you how I used to scrambled for decent towels when having unexpected guests or how often I would have to buy in anticipation every time were were expecting family. Purchasing a set ((2) 6 pc sets are ideal) of towels that remain for guest only is a life saver every time. You never have to worry if there are fresh towels or what the kids may have wiped with the “ good towels”.... oh, just my kids do this? Ok. Ha, ha!

Extra pillows and blankets

Retailers like IKEA and TJ Maxx are great for pillow/ blanket sets that are space saving! Purchase a storage container or shrink bags to keep the clean and in shape. These are great even if you are hosting movie/game nights or camping/outdoor festivities.

Toiletry grab

Creating a basket or two with ”FF’s” (frequent forgets) always comes in handy and keeps you from using your personal items for others. Toothpaste, extra toothbrush, shampoo, conditioner, tissue, soap, small first aid kit, etc. are great items to add! you’ll find that you’ll have less taps on your door as everything has already been though of!

Air Mattress or portable bed

Having and air mattress or portable bed is always an amazing idea. You can use it for your guest and pack it just in case you need it as someone’s guest. It's also an amazing option for guests that may have allergies.

Happy hosting!
